Launching a new Banarasi silk label as a luxury brand online
Reshatara needed a website that would establish it as a premium Banarasi silk brand from day one, and hold its own next to long-established heritage houses.
I analysed leading Banarasi and Indian luxury labels for imagery, storytelling, craft and product presentation, then presented the findings to the client.
Banarasi Baithak opens on a dark, full-bleed campaign shoot and sells every category through styled photography. That is why Reshatara's homepage opens on hero shoots rather than a product grid.

Vraj:bhoomi explains who makes the fabric and how, from hand-carved blocks to natural dyes, before it shows a single product. Reshatara's About us page follows the same order, putting the weave and the weavers ahead of the shop.

Tilfi's sarees collection is almost all photography: full-length styled shots with only a name and price beneath. Reshatara's collection pages keep the same restraint, so the sarees do the selling.

A photographic, story-led website where craftsmanship is the proof of luxury.
Colours drawn from traditional silk, type from the brand book, core components and an art direction led by the fabric.

Close-ups of the fabric and styled shoots do most of the talking. The hero slides, as they run on the site.
A working build of the landing, collection, product and About pages, on desktop and mobile, with notes on the key decisions.

Reshatara wasn’t tested with shoppers, so the measure is the brief: whether the design met the goals it set out with.
Competitor findings were presented to the client before any screen was designed.
Position, heritage and shopping each have a home: premium photography, the craft story, and a full browse-to-buy flow.
